Historical Houses in NYC

How many places in NYC do you know are historical.

Here is one of them:

Queens County Farm Museum. The museum is located at 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy between 34th and 37th Aves in Floral Park, Queens. You can call them for tour times at 718-347-3276. You can also visit them on the web: www.queensfarm.org.

The farm was first cultivated in 1697. The cottage was later built in 1772.

While there get yourself a heaping serving of fresh produce, eggs, pork, and wine. They do have a small farm stand on the premises.

Do you know any historical houses or buildings in NYC?

@hhusted This website http://www.historichousetrust.org/ has listing of prominent historic homes in NYC many of which are open to the public. NYC I believe has many historic buildings one of which is the Knickerbocker building( 466 Broadway) which is located at the corner of 42nd Street Broadway. This stately building was built in 1906 as the Knickerbocker Hotel by John Jacob Astor but it closed its doors 15 years later due to the owner's reversal of fortune. The building also housed the offices of Newsweek magazine in the 1950's and today this building which is known as 6 Times Square is home to a huge outlet of GAP and also hosts several garment manufacturers.

There are tons of historical mansions in Long Island. They're just incredible houses; a lot of them have been converted into museums. I shot a commercial in Old Westbury Gardens. It was such a beautiful and creepy house. Definitely worth going out for a day and taking a look at these.

Theodore Roosevelt's birthplace is considered a historical site. Apparently he was born into a classic Victorian home. http://www.nps.gov/thrb/index.htm
