Films for Kids to Watch This Weekend

If you have kids or know someone who does, perhaps you can encourage them to attend free movies.

This weekend at the National Museum of the American Indian on 1 Bowling Green, there will be films for kids. These films will consist of tales of Wesakechak: Wesakechak and the First Spring Flood. This film is about the Creator who puts the trickster Wesakechak on earth to take care of all the creatures. When he is tricked by the jealous spirit Machias, his friends come to his aid.

The second film is "First Steps." This is a documentary that contains enactments of a traditional Cree tale about a father's treachery and a mother's love, and the heroism of their son.

Both films are shown on March 6 at 10:30AM but run through March 28.

The price is free. You can call 1-212-514-3716 for more info.

I wanted to say I contacted my best friend and told him about the films. He told me he was going to take his two kids to see them. So, you may want to think about it. If you got kids of your own, or have nephews or nieces, you may want to take them.
