Dangers of Tree Limbs Near Windows

Does anyone have a tree in the back of the building they live in? If so, is it close to the window? I have a tree that is very close to my window. I live in a studio, and the tree is very close to the window overlooking the fire escape. Every so often, when the wind blows hard, the limbs hit against the window. I am concerned a big wind will come and blow that tree into the window and crack it.

I asked the super about it, and he claims the tree is on the property that belongs to another owner so he can't do anything about it.
