Bronx to get Two New Supermarkets

Hey, I read today that the city of NY is providing funds that will allow two high-quality supermarkets to open in the area. The supermarkets will be required to sell fresh produce as part of the goods they sell.

The stores to be built will be at on E. 204th St. This is the location of where Foodtown used to be until it burnt down last December.

The second location will be at a vacant building on Webster Avenue and 180th St.

Anyone live in any of these areas? If so, you will be getting a store near you real soon. They expect the stores to open within a year.

@hhusted I am sure these stores will be welcomed by folks who live in these areas. One of the greatest conveniences of living in the city is that you can almost always pop into a supermarket or even a corner store to get 'essentials' like a quart of milk when you suddenly run out.. such a thing is not possible in the suburbs where you often have to drive to a store to replenish that 'essential'.

Yeah, having such an advantage can spoil us. I don't know about you, but I like getting spoiled.
