@Uptowngirl: I don't know. I think it would be funny to see an elephant coming out of a subway car.

That's a big thing I read about before I moved here but I have yet to see it! You can watch all of the elephants being walked out of the subway! That's so cool to me.

That's amazing! I'd love to see an elephant on the subway! It sounds like a premise for a children's book...

@JenMac Where does that happen? I'd rather see elephants in the subway than in the circus.

Have you guys ever read this odd, amazing children's book called Mr. Chaz and Lisa Sue and the Pandas? It's about an Upper West Side family that discovers two panda, Pandemonium and Don't Panda to Public Approval, and tries to raise money to send them to Paris, where they can masquerade as dogs and be treated super-well. It was very eccentric and very, very New York (lots of UWS references). A propos of zoo animals in strange places...

@BroadwayBk there was a pic of the elephants who are appearing in the Barnum and Bailey circus in the papers. These elephants apparently walked through the Midtown tunnel to get to Madison Square Garden and the blurb said that they were not allowed on the LIRR don't know if it was serious or not .
