"Comfortable Quiet Neighborhood"

Having lived here for 33 years, I find Danforth Road to be a wonderful place to have raised my 4 children and a great place for my 3 grandchildren to visit. Danforth Road lies at the back of Physic Hill subdivision - 3 blocks off of Winterpock Road in southwestern Chesterfield County. The street is not a through street and after running the length of 3 blocks deadends to Rosebud Road to the south and Physic Hill Road to the north. The neighborhood of Physic Hill consists of a 100+ homes. The architechture consists of mostly brick ranch style homes or 2 story colonials built in the 1970's. There are some new homes built within the last 5 years. The lots are at least 1/2 acre to accommodate the septic systems, however, most homes are provided with public water through Chesterfield County Department of Utilities. These comfortable homes have mature landscaping and the yards are nicely maintained. Because of the location of Danforth Road being in the back of the neighborhood, there is not much traffic and is a safe place for bike riding or stolling. The neighbors are friendly but not noisy. Many families have lived for 30+ years and they too, have found this neighborhood to be a great place to raise a family and continue to live hear after the children are grown. The value of the homes and risen at a conservative appreciation and so far has not been subject to the foreclosures as seen in other areas. The restored Physic Hill Plantantion lies in the center of this neighborhood. Built in 1813 the planation acquired its name from Dr. Walke who ived there and practiced medicine there. His practice was passed onto his son, who continued in his father's tradition. There is also supposed to be a resident ghost, Martha (the first wife of the first doctor) doing mischievious haughtings. Makes for interesting conversation. The neighborhood lies off Winterpock Road and Beach Road just 3 miles from Route 360 (Hull Street Road) where there are several shopping centers, medical offices and banks. The good school system that the children attend are Grange Hall Elementary, Bailey Bridge Middle and Cosby High (the newest Chesterfield County High School).
The quality of life on this street has provided a safe quiet and comfortable environment for my family and though I enjoy all of the amenities found on the 360 corridor, I do enjoy the living in this rural enivorment.
