Within walking distance...

I'm considering buying a house here and would like to live in an area where my husband and I can walk to restaurants, markets, pubs, etc. Any suggestions?

Hi Alaina!

Yes, absolutely, the neighborhood where we live in (Carolina Heights) fits that description. We looked all over the USA and picked Wilmington for the exact same reason. Depending on your budget, there are bungalows, mansions, riverfront condos- even houseboat communities. Front Street is filled with great eats (Fork and Cork is a hazard to your waistline) and just a little bit eastward, Castle Street is a neat up and coming area. There you’ll find cafes, coffee shops and diners, as well as vintage clothing boutiques.

Our neighborhood (Carolina Heights) is about a 20 minute walk to downtown. It’s where ‘Dawson’s Creek’ was filmed. If you’re looking for something closer to five minutes, fourth street is only blocks away from pubs and restaurants... it’s where the carriage tours take their guests.

Have you planned a visit yet? I’d be happy to show you around.
