Downtown White Plains has become a great place for someone in their 20's and 30's. It's close to the train and an easy commute to Manhattan. The avenue is filled with nighlife, and close enough to walk and not drive. Many great restaurants flood the area. It's so convenient to all shopping with a new Shop Rite in the City Center, a multiplex movie house, the downtown has it all. If not on the Avenue just a stone throw away is North Broadway, with many condo and co-op buildings. Many young folks are purchasing their first real estate here.

Well, it depends, of course, on whether or not they would like to be in the thick of the hustle and bustle of downtown White Plains and close to the steady thumb of late night bars, restaurants and shopping. If so, then I would highly recommend living on any one of the streets that jut off of Mamaroneck Ave. There are many nice apartment buildings on Old Mamaroneck Road, North Broadway and Lake Street, all of which are in walking distance to the center of town where all the action is.
