"Nice Hillside Street"
Unlike downtown Livermore, Wetmore Road is nicely removed on the south side of the town. The area sees massive amounts of sunshine, which the local wineries and golf courses certainly benefit from.
In addition to being home to two wineries on one block, Wetmore offers stunning views of the nearby foothills, including the impressive Mount Diablo. This means that excellent hiking and biking are not far, although for many of the residents of the area, the downtown restaurant scene may be even more appealing than the outdoor activities. Also appealing is the reasonable cost of real estate in this barely-in-the-Bay-Area town.
That being said, the only real drawback, in addition to being far removed from San Francisco, is the weather. Unlike its milder Peninsula neighbors, Livermore sees summer temperatures in the low 100s and winter temperatures in the upper 30s. But if you can stand the heat, you will be rewarded with great real estate prices for this town's modern homes, as well as some of the best views in the Bay Area.
