How much time should I plan for a trip to Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate?

In addition to picking one of the tours mentioned by Anjanette, keep in mind that Kykuit is limited access. In 2013 reservations are strongly recommended as the number of tours has been reduced. You'll board a bus at Philipsburg Manor, then be driven to Kykuit, and there's no shortcut to exit the tour early. It's a great trip but many visitors underestimate the time commitment.

It depends on which tour you want to partake in. The Grand Tour takes about 3 hours. A Classic Tour, Garden and Sculptures Tour or Selected Highlights Tour takes approximately 2 1/4 hours. A Timesaver Tour takes 1 1/2 hours.
