"Not the best"

Not the best street to be living on or visiting. It isn't in a very nice area and it gave me a bad feeling when i visited. If you are visiting i would recommend staying in daylight and if you are there at night, make sure you have pepper spray and a cellphone in case something happens. Be safe.

"This is Miami's Main Street that splits the entire City of Miami"

Want to get around Miami, but maps and highways are just not what you need? Choose FLAGLER Street.

Flagler St is basically Street # 0. It's the street that splits North from South and that leads from Downtown by the Bay/Coast all the way deep within the city westward to other important locations.
Take Flagler all the way East and you are in Downtown. Pass Miami Ave on Flagler and now you are in the East Side of Downtown and right along the edge of Biscayne Bay. Hop on Biscayne Boulevard and take it North from Flagler to find the entrance to the beaches, Miami's design district, and another route around the city from there if you need.

Flagler is how you tell where you are in Miami.
Anything below (south of) Flagler is considered South and anything West of Miami Ave (Downtown) on Flagler is considered SW Miami. *This is extremely important knowledge if you are traveling around the city.

If you can think of a cross in the letter "t" position, Flagler St would be the line that goes left to right and Miami Ave the one that goes up and down, and where the two lines intersect is the center of Downtown. The Miami Museum, the Library, Bayside, routes to the Beaches and around town to Arenas, shuttles for concerts, businesses, shops, and bus and train terminals, all intertwine in this area.

Follow Flagler St West and the avenues start increasing. Now you are moving through the heart of the city. Heading west inland on Flagler, you have North Miami to your right and South Miami to your left.

"Not the best in Miami"

There is about one block of nice housing in W Flagler St, and that is just West of I-95. As you continue through Little Havana and away from the Miami River, W Flagler begins to look dreary. The street is lined with a combination of low income dilapidated housing and run-down storefronts. Crime is high in the area, and there is very little landscaping and an abundance of litter in some spots. There are areas of heavy traffic which make the neighborhood noisy at times. Shopping is mostly of the value kind, though there is an abundance of Cuban and Central American cafeterias and restaurants that offer authentic and delicious latin food at great prices. Residents of nearby neighborhoods are super nice and friendly; and the housing prices are great for those looking to save some cash.

"Downtown shopping and transportation hub"

West flager street is the center of downtown shopping. Small stores line the road, many geared toward either tourists or immigrants. The street has a seedy, run down atmosphere and numerous empty storefronts. This area is a transportation hub for the county. Maybe bus routes terminate here and there is also a rail station. Due to this, there are many vagrants, thieves and con artists hanging around all day long.

"This block gets worse by the year."

Every year this neighborhood gets worse as many people in the neighborhood have illegal units and are renting them out but county inspectors don't seem to care. The neighborhood used to be nice but is deteriorating at a quick pace with the transients living in the illegal units and excess garbage in front of houses and the street looks like a parking lot with about six to seven cars in front of each single family home on SW 63rd Court and also on SW 64th Avenue (which is worse then SW 63rd Court). When the county inspectors are told about the infractions many don't do anything at all and never ' find ' any code violations. For the record, I have lived on this block since 1986.
