West Dana St, Old Mountain View

Downtown Mountain View is one of those Silicon Valley gems that I almost hesitate to write too much about - it is central to public transportation, easy to get to by car, and is relatively uncrowded by downtown Silicon Valley standards. While food choices tend to be mainly Asian influences, which are not necessarily everyone's favorite, the sushi and Indian food here are amazing.

Other hits on this particular street including Dana Street Roasting, Alberto's Nightclub, and Elegance Hair Salon. Best of all, there is plenty of free parking to be found here, and I've even exceeded the two-hour time limit, a luxury that has not existed in downtown Palo Alto.

Even the crowd here seems a bit more down-to-earth, although equally tech savvy. It's not San Francisco, but it is a nice place to hang out for an afternoon.
