West 140 St, Hamilton Heights

In the heart of Morningside Heights, you'll find West 140th street, nearby City College and a nice park. This neighborhood is a lot different from the nicer blocks you'll find in Harlem, with much less pizazz. I find that this street is kind of lackluster, and don't think it's worth it if you're just trying to beat the pricier places downtown. I would suggest you consider your time money and skip this street when looking for somewhere to live uptown.

This street is convenient though, close to the A and 1 trains, and there are plenty of small stores and cheap places to grab a bite to eat.
