"Wesley Neighborhood - Unexpected Oasis"

The Wesley Neighborhood is an unexpected oasis of peace and quiet. After you pass underneath Interstate 40 off the hustle and bustle of Kingston Pike, you find streets and houses that, quite frankly, remind me of the New Jersey suburban neighborhood I grew up in the 1960's. It has that laid back, relaxed type of atmosphere. Most of the lots here seem to be at least 1/2 acre size, so there's good space between houses. This neighborhood and the adjoining West Hills neighborhood were one of the first developments in the westward expansion of Knoxville in the 1950's, and there seems to be a large number of people who have lived here for most of their lives. All in all, quite a pleasant place to live!

"Great place off the beaten path"

Wesley Road is a very little known back road connecting Kingston Pike and Middlebrook. The entire area is nothing but residential areas. The connecting streets are also residential heavy. The area of Kingston Pike where Wesley comes out on is no longer a very intense area. This means that Wesley is one of the best roads and most quiet neighborhoods in Knoxville. This area does not have a lot of traffic, is very safe, very clean and very quiet. It offers a great cost of living and good resale value.

The biggest downfall for this area is the road layout. It is in between two major exits for I-40. This means that in order to get on the interstate you either have to suffer traffic, or know the back roads. The overall night life and eating out of this area are not great, just not a lot of options. The public transportation system can get you as far as Kingston Pike, so it may not be the best. Overall, this neighborhood offers a great area that is quiet peaceful and generally pretty good. I would recommend this area to seniors, or families with kids.
