"Great for the Outdoorsman"

Although near the heart of the city, Washington Heights Terrace Northwest is great for the outdoorsman. I'm sure you are thinking, "whatever could she mean, great for the outdoorsman?" Well, let me explain. When I refer to the outdoorsman, I am not talking about the hard core, camouflage wearing, rifle toting, deer shooting kind. If you don't know, this is coming from a city girl's perspective. An outdoorsman, in this context, refers to someone who does not require the conventions of air conditioning, four walls and electronics to be thoroughly entertained and happy.

With that being said, the fact that plenty of outdoor living, recreating, fitness and fun can be had in the fantastic parks within the Washington Heights community, is really what I mean when I say great for the outdoorsman. Washington Park is huge! It even has its own community club. And if Washington Park is too overwhelming, then residents or more specifically their children, have the benefit of Ashby Circle Playlot right nearby. Between the two parks, residents can enjoy bike trails, walking paths, picnic areas, ball fields, play areas for the children, and plenty of wide open green space where they can create their own recreation and fun.
Pros
  • fantastic outdoor spaces
  • parks within the community
  • great schools in the area
Cons
  • far from the beaten path (not necessarily a con for some)
  • not close to major interstates or retail shopping
