What is a good neighborhood to live in between Mark Center and Sidwell school?

Hoping to have a commute of about 30-45 mins in either direction but would rather a longer commute to Mark Center if it means a nicer/safer neighborhood closer to the school. Lanier Heights/Kalorama seem a little too far East so hoping there is something closer to Mark Center. I know Georgetown is an option but is there any other neighborhood? Thanks so much!!
