"Walsh is a little town in SE Colorado out in the plains"

Walsh is along HW 160 way out east not far from Kansas and Oklahoma. This is a small small town in the dusty plains of SE Colorado. With a population of less than 1000 people, Walsh is pretty much a farm town. It is too far to commute to the front range and about 80 miles from Trinidad along I-25 to the west. This is Oklahoma you can not see or feel the mountains.
Pros
  • extremely low crime rate
Cons
  • not much shopping options
  • few jobs

"A tiny town close to the Kansas border"

Walsh, Colorado is a very small town with only about 550 residents. While the median household income here is well below Colorado averages at $38,759, the housing prices are low as well, with a median cost of $83,906. Many of the residents work in agriculture, fishing, forestry, and hunting. This small town has an incredible lack of crime, even for a small town. There are years when there is zero crime reported, and never things such as assault, rape, or murder. It's usually petty theft and minor things such as that.

Due to it's location so far from any major towns, there aren't many amenities. There is a nice city park and a small airport. Some of the buildings in Walsh show their age and many of them are now empty with little chance of being occupied anytime soon.
Pros
  • extremely low crime rate
Cons
  • few jobs
  • no amenities
