"Nice Apartments"

Vista Oaks Drive is a short street just to the north of Highway 4 by the Center Avenue exit in a section of Martinez that is made up of newer 1980’s and 1990’s apartments. It is especially nice because it is one of the last streets before you get an empty hill.

The two sets of apartment buildings that are here are pretty nice looking in a plain, boring homey sort of way--especially the larger of the two, the Vista Oaks Apartments with its tan wood paneling and auburn shingled roofs. It was the kind of apartments that were popular in the 80’s, but that now feel sort of bland.

The other nice thing about this location is that you are right by the freeway on ramps so you can head right off to work. You also are very close to the movie theater and the supermarket (one of two nearby). The strip mall that is there also has a Starbucks among other amenities.

This location is also an okay spot for starting a commute so long as you are staying in the East Bay. You can make it as far as Dublin in an hour.

In terms of schools, this area of Martinez is actually not too bad. Alhambra High School is pretty strong and most of the schools around here are average or above average.

In terms of safety this is a fairly safe area with only run of the mill sorts of crimes. The apartment building does have a sex offender listed as a resident, but overall the area is pretty average in terms of crime.

Overall this is pretty good spot for singles and single parents.
