"Very Interesting Place To Be"

When I hear about Vernon Blvd I think of Hunter's Point. Hunter's Point is a pretty good area. It has its ugly looking streets, but the majority of the area looks pretty clean.

There are also a lot of stores in the area as well as a church. You should see the steeple. It really is tall and peaks at a point. What an attraction.

There is an area where the land has been torn up. The city is getting ready to build there.

As a street, the blvd is not bad at all. The buildings are old looking, making some of the area look grimy. Otherwise, not a bad area to go to.
Pros
  • Plenty of stores
  • Very neat and clean
Cons
  • Little too dirty in spots
  • Too many people at times

"Some parts cool, some parts scary."

On the southern end of Vernon you've got a lot of hipster bars, restaurants and stuff. This area is very nice and a good place to go for a walk on a sunny day, as it is near the river and has a great view of Manhattan. As you go North it gets industrial, then snakes through one of the largest housing projects in the United States, a Costco, and then deadending in a strange yet beautiful suburban looking area by the triborough (now RFK) Bridge.

"This Hunters Point street is improving!"

Hunters Point has a bad reputation for being very scary and pretty ghetto. This street is now improving and becoming trendy. It is only one train stop away from Manhattan and new blood is flocking to this street. New apartment renovations are making this street a premier block because of the river views. There are some really good restaurants on this street, but some areas can be a little industrial and unsafe to walk alone at night.
