"Tremont St. is an Excellent Choice"

Of all the places that I lived in Philadelphia, Tremont St. was the nicest. It is a quiet tree lined street with very little traffic. There isn't really any reason to go down the street unless you live there, it was not a main through street.

There are major shopping centers within a very easy mile walk. Public transportation is easily accessable along Roosevelt Blvd. There are many great restraunts within an easy walking distance also.

The area is mostly single family homes, well kept, and the property values are slightly higher than the surrounding areas. Crime is also relatively low.

"Unruh St, A Quiet Gem"

Unruh St. is located in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. It is a quiet street and entirely residential. The homes are well kept single family dwellings.

I have not lived there, but I walked down the street every day to visit the nearby stores. You always saw children playing outside, and it was like a quiet little oasis.

Public transportation is only 1 block away, and the neighborhood is clean and well kept. Shopping is only 1 block away also as are several eateries.

"C Street Rates a B"

C Street runs through the Feltonville and Olney sections of Philadelphia. I lived a few blocks away and visited C street often.

There are numerous parks lining C street, and row houses. The homes are relatively nice, and the street is quiet. The neighborhood is a typical row house neighborhood, full of working class people.

There is a slight pest (roaches) problem in the area, which varies greatly from block to block. I would not hesitate to move there, but you must be careful who you live next to, as rowhouses are attached, and your neighbors problems become your problems.

"Grant Ave, A Great Place To Work"

Grant Ave., located in Northeast Philadelphis, is mainly industrial real estate. Parts of Grant Ave. do have housing, but the majority of the street is small manufacturing and service companies.

The parts of Grant Ave. that have housing are considered a nice place to live. They are centrally located, and excellent shopping is available. There are numerous places to work close by, and the area is quiet.

There are an unusually high number of medical offices, and small office complexes. The traffic is moderate, except at the intersection of Grant and Roosevelt Blvd., which is a high traffic, high accident area.

"Don't Go Down the Side Streets"

Spring Garden St. is best known for being the location of Philadelphia Community College. The street iself is not bad at all, it has excellent access to public transportation.

The side streets are another story. The second that you turn off Spring Garden St, you are in some residential areas where there are many abandonded houses. It is not a good idea to leave your car there for a long period of time, it will not have hubcaps or wheels on it when you return.

The police presense is quite good however, and Spring Garden is a wide, not heavily trafficed street, except at rush hour.

"Frankford Ave, Under the EL"

Frankford Ave is in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. The elevated trains runs directly above the street. There are numerous elevated train stops along the avenue, as well as busses running day and night.

The elevated train does create noisy living conditions and alot of litter is discarded along the street. Locals call it "Frankford AV".

Frankford Ave offers great shopping deals in small discount stores. Shopping is best done during daylight hours, nighttime can be a little scary unless you are near an elevated train stop. The elevated train creates deep dark shadows at night, and there are numerous bars that well, look a little seedy.

"A Quiet Street for Families"

Akron St. is a pleasant street in Northeast Philadelphia. It borders Max Myers Playground, and is one block from Bustleton Ave.

It is a quiet residential street of brick rowhouses and it offers familes a chance for home ownership at a very reasonable cost.

Public transportation is very close, and 24 hour shopping is available within 1 mile. It is a quiet, pleasant street with very little thru traffic.

"The One Block Street"

Conklin St. runs for only one block in Philadelphis. It is in a very convient area, just one block from the end (or beginning) on the elevated train, and a major public transportation bus terminal.

The street is entirely residental and consists of rowhouses. It is the perfect place to live for anyone who uses public transportation. Because the steet is so close to the bus terminal, nearby shopping is great.

"A 12 Lane Monolith in Philadelphia"

E. Roosevelt Blvd, in Philadelphia is part of the Northeast section of the city. It is THE major highway through Northest section, and is used by many people to reach the Bucks County line.

E. Roosevelt Blvd. is 12 lanes of major traffic. It can be very confusing to someone from out of town. The outermost lanes are allowed to have traffic at all time, but you can also park your car in the lane. There is no parking during morning and evening rush hours though.

Each side of the blvd. is split into a middle 3 lane section and an outer 3 lane section. If you want to make a left hand turn, and you are in the outer lanes, you have to wait for a "crossover" which is a cut through the median strip. There are no signs that let you know you are entering a busy 3 lane section and there is no seperate lane to enter into.

The shopping and restraunts are worth the hazardous drive though.

"A major Corridor of NE Philly"

Bustleton Ave. is one of Northeast Philadelphia's main thoroughfares. It runs from the end of the elevated train line in Frankfort to the Bucks County Line.

You will find a mixture of single fammily homes, row houses, apartment biuldings, neighborhood stores, and strip malls. Bustleton Ave. is the gateway to many neighborhood enclaves in the Northeast, and it is a very busy street.

Public transportation is excellent, buses run every few minutes. It can be quite hazardous though to try to cross the street. The four lanes are wide, and unless you sprint across, the green lights do not allow enough time to safely cross the street.
