"It doesn't get any better with children!"

We have lived on this street for several years now and we love it so much. We are close to everything.... shopping at the boutiques in Montclair, Willowbrook and Short Hills Mall, every kind of food delivery known to man is available here. The NYC direct train to Penn Station (a mere 22 minute ride) is only 6 blocks away and there is also free jitney service. The town is green and lush with gas lamps lining the street. There are tons of activities to get involved in and living on Hawthorne puts you in the middle of everything. The park at Carteret is close by. The Freeman Rose Garden is on Hawthorne. The High school, Middle school and Linden Ave Elementary are all within walking distance and Linden Ave elementary is even on the corner of Hawthorne. If you are reading this it is probably because you don't already know how great it is to live in Glen Ridge... but let me tell you it is the best place I've ever lived. I've made great, funny, dependable friends here and I love this town and the street I live on. It is quiet and charming. I see people always walking thier dogs, riding bikes, pushing the baby in a stroller. You can always catch up on the playground after drop off or pick up. I have found that when I was in a pinch with a sick child or just needed 3 eggs to finish those birthday cupcakes there have been many neighbors who are there to help out. The street is very safe...and so is the town as a whole... and because of the presence of the school we see the police patrol many times per day. People with dogs are very respectful to scoop as they walk and the dogs are always leashed. The town population is very educated and have many diverse careers. We have TV executives, investment bankers, published authors, soap opera actors, stay-at-home-moms, pharma scientists, artists, small business owners, police and everything inbetween...I love my street. I love this town and it is very welcoming. I will stay forever if I can!
