"Affordable place to live"

There are several affordable apartments and houses here. There is a Metra train station just a block North on Ardmore which means train noise can be an issue, but the convenience of hopping the train to Chicago is great. A few blocks South is St Charles St and there are some good restaurants and fast food places. I love the Hi-View Restaurant for a quiet place with good food and service. Just 17 miles west of Chicago, makes it close enough to do things in the city and still one of the most affordable places to live in the area.

"Excellent suburban downtown location"

If you like the convienences of having shopping and restaurants within walking distance, this is the place for you. There are many great places to get that cup of joe, eat, and socialize. The Pace buses and Metra trains stop here if you need public transportation. There are many events that go on here. The main problems are traffic, parking and train noise, but that is the price for a downtown location.

"Small town feel in a Chicago suburb"

I am a local Realtor who lived on Cayuga for my junior and senior years(86-87) in high school and when I came back after college. My mother still lives there and I visit regularly. The house is close to York Road which a busy street, but as a side street it is really very quite and not much traffic. The neighbors are very friendly.

Mamma Maria's Pizza is my favorite for pizzas and pastas. Tell the owners, Jim and Phil, that I sent you! Riley's is a nice local pub. In the past on a rare occassion, I have seen former Blackhawks players there. A block North there is a couple of small strip malls with other restaurants, 7-Eleven, Vallette Drug store, cleaners, gas station and other conveniences.

We are only a couple of blocks from the Praire Path which is a biking, running, and walking trail. York Commons is located at the corner of York and Cayuga. York Commons has a park, outdoor pool, and skate park for recreation. It is a great neighborhood.
