"On the Border: A Street with two towns"
Essex Avenue is on the border of Glen Ridge and Bloomfield. One side of the street is lined with gas lamps (Glen Ridge) and the other street lights. There are trees, plants and gardens all along the street.
The neighbors are wonderful. There are young families with young children as well as older families with grown children.
Because of the proximity to New York City and Jersey City, many of the people commute. It is easier and faster to get to Manhattan from Essex Avenue than many places in New York City (Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens). Many of the folks in the neighborhood have moved here from New York.
