"Perfect family area!"

Plantation Road is a great family area in Ft. Lauderdale. There are also wonderful schools off this road as well. There is much to do nearby this road, lots of dining, shopping, and entertainment. You are not far from the huge outlet mall, Sawgrass Mills, nor are you far from Broward Mall. There are many office buildings on this road as well. Pretty much this road is a bit boring but thats only because its productive, which is an excellent quality for families! I would definitely recommend retiring here as well. Not much excitement goes on here although traffic can be a bit rough during rush hours. It is also close by 595.

"Great place for errands"

University Drive is a large, well known road in Ft. Lauderdale. It is in a nice area depending on which part of University Drive you are on. There are many stores, diners, and strip malls that have been off this road forever and don't look like they are going anywhere. Many useful places along this road as well as entertainment such as the University Bowl (bowling). There is also a Broward Community College nearby as well as Nova Southeastern University. You will find that you can get a lot done on this road but I don't recall there being too many living areas off of it.

"Great family area!"

Bonaventure Blvd. is a great area in Ft.Lauderdale, better known as located in the "Weston" area. Many families live around here and it is not nearly as expensive as other areas of Weston. However you are also very close to all the amenities. It is an excellent choice for a new family! Minimal traffic but do be aware there are many schools in the area and you will most likely get stuck behind a schoolbus or too a few times a week. Great little shopping centers and close by the Weston Town Center which has amazing boutiques and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this area for anyone, perhaps maybe not "singles" as there is not THAT much to do in this area.

"Great for nightlife or beach!"

Las Olas is located in downtown Ft Lauderdale. While that means LOTS to do- dining, nightlife, beach, artsy museum areas, it also means a bit dangerous at night. It is not uncommon there are drunk drivers leaving late night hop spots crushing around this area. As well as teens speeding/racing their cars from time to time trying to be "cool". I would not recommend living in this area unless it is in one of the nicer spots by the ocean. There is tons of traffic on this road and many small streets that you can easily got lost in. If you are visiting, I'd recommend getting a good map or a plain old taxi to take you around here!

"Beautiful street, beautiful area."

Royal Palm Blvd. & Arvida Parkway are one in the same. This is where I last lived and I rave about it constantly to my friends in other areas of Florida. It is BEAUTIFULLY maintained! Even on holidays, they put up lights in the trees. I love the area surround this street which is Weston, FL. Although it may be preceded as a upper/upper-middle class area it is full of many families, middle class mostly. Yes there are areas where local Miami sports players and bigwigs live within the dwelling but that doesn't mean you are not welcome to visit. There are many dining areas around this road as they are locally owned. That means a large variety and superb attention to detail. This area is most excellent for families and those retiring. Singles and couples may live here as well but it could be a bit expensive and it is not hard to travel to as it is attached to I75 as well.

"Great little area for families"

I have fond memories of visiting many stores in the strip malls along this street as a kid. Many times to TCBY Yogurt (frozen yogurt), Pizza Hut, Crafts & Stuff, etc. This is a great family atmosphere and I would definitely recommend it to be a great area for families. It is pretty family oriented but not far from the large Pines Blvd road where you can find a many a shopping, dining, and entertainment. Minimal traffic as well.

"Great road to get you from point A to point B."

This is a great road to take when running errands, or just making numerous trips throughout the day to pick up a thing here or there. Be careful as there are many canals between the lanes on this road and I sadly have heard of more accidents then you would expect due to these canals off Griffin Road and careless drivers. This road also connects you to I75. If you go down towards the Markham Park area it becomes a bit of a "hick" town, where you will most likely see many trucks and old fashioned buildings. I would not reccomend living off certain areas of Griffin Road but then again there aren't many neighborhoods directly off of it.

"Great area, great for familys!"

Weston Road is one of the most safe areas I would suggest for families! There is also tons to do on this road, many large shopping centers (Publix, Bagel shops, Blockbuster, etc. - Family oriented spots). Sometimes local high schools loiter in certain spots off Weston Rd. at night but they usually stay out of the way of family areas. There is rarely traffic and lots of sign-age and lights, which help prevent accidents! I would very much suggest Weston Road as a great street and great place to live!

"Great street! Lots of neighborhoods, schools, and strip malls!"

Pines Blvd. is a LARGE street in Pembroke Pines (located in Ft.Lauderale, FL). It connects to I75. There are many neighborhoods, schools, strip malls, and government offices off this road. You could simply take a drive down Pines Blvd. and pretty much meet any needs you are looking for. There are tons of large stores such as your typical Circuit City, Target, Petsmart, Kmart, Barnes & Nobles, Mens Wearhouse, Toys R Us, Babies R Us, etc. shopping spots. There is also a great mall on this road too Pretty much any chain restaurant is off this road as well! Also, a large park (C.B. Smith) is here too- many concerts and events take place here and parking gets bad so its nice to be able to walk! There is also a retirement community here too. EXCELLENT for familys. Crime is not nearly as high around here as it is in other spots of Ft. Lauderdale but I would be careful at night as always.

"Nice street to shop on but not to live on!"

East Broward Blvd. provides a lot of activities to engage in but is perhaps not the best place to live! I do know a store got robbed at gunpoint in this area. But then again that’s the nature of the beast- Ft. Lauderdale in general. There is a great mall (Broward Mall) with decent stores, nothing to high class but enough to get your fill of necessary shopping needs in, here. There is also a Broward Community College campus here, great for the commuter students. However I would not recommend taking night classes at the campus, there have been some mischievous activities reported when the sun falls here. Made me drop a class. East Broward Blvd. never really has too much traffic and there are school zones in the area which helps reduce speeding. Overall, it’s a nice street to visit for entertainment such as eating out (many restaurants), shopping, or education but I would not recommend living off of it!

"A great place to live if you enjoy people!"

Ft. Lauderdale is a large, populated city. The entire county (Broward) has a higher population then some STATES! If you enjoy great shopping, the beach, a large assortment of dining, tons of nightlife, and don't mind the large amount of traffic, people, and different ethnicities everywhere you go- this is for you! I recommend this city for singles or couples. However there are parts of Ft. Lauderdale that I do recommend for families, just specific areas such as Davie, Weston, Plantation, and Coral Springs.
