"Downtown Pensacola"

The downtown area is currently undergoing a gentrification. Many nice old homes being purchased and remodeled by investors.
The main area for nightlife is Palafox Street. Very cool old buildings with huge wrought Iron balconies. Many of the clubs look small from the outside but are huge when entering. Most of these have all been redone but have so much charm. Alot of Military in Pensacola and in the nightlife areas. Also a good size Gay night life with at least 3 different bars. Gay clubs are located in the downtown area but not on Palafox. The downtown area has expanded down Garden street. New younger buyers are going in and buying these homes in the letter streets. They are either buying them and rehabing them or purchasing the finished homes investors have done. The best homes are the ones that have been completely redone. The Beaches are some of the best I have seen in the United States. The main one is called Pensacola beach. It's actually about 9 miles over a couple bridges and is more like an island. Beautiful white sand beaches! Huge Memorial day weekend gathering place. Huge for the Gay community where they pretty much take over the island for a week with around 100,000.00 people from all over the country. Pensacola also seems to have events on a weekly basis put on by the city. Concerts at the beach, Movies in the park and so on.
Pros
  • Great Beaches
  • quiet, fresh air,
Cons
  • Finding people to work on my house was extremely difficult.
  • More restuants and stores and gyms needed in the downtown area.
