"Country... but a little bit trashy"

Don't get me wrong, there are some really great houses on Liberty Road. But overall, the trashy properties overpower the beautiful homes and bring the property value down.

On the other hand, if you're looking for land, you're more likely to find it available on a road like this. It is very much country, but if you're looking for a large chunk of land, you would find it on Liberty Rd.

There are not many restaurants and stores around, other than a gas station in nearby town, Gold Hill. The only benefit to this location is that Hwy. 52 is right nearby. This provides quick access to Stanley County and Gold Hill, Rockwell, Granite Quarry, & Salisbury (Rowan County).

"Okay for school... but don't live here."

I think anyone that has travelled through this area understands that the area has really went down. Even though Mecklenburg County tries to keep this area decent with new retail outlets, etc., it still manages to have some of the highest crime rates in Charlotte.

I've been a student at UNCC for the past four years, but crime seems to be at a record high this year. Every week I get email from the campus police department telling us about crimes that occurred on or off of University City Blvd (I-29).

This area is relatively safe during the day, although a car robbery occurred recently as early as 10am. Even still, I would say that you're fine during the day. I would just not recommend being alone at night, nor living right near the university! Concord is a much better location - and safer!

"The "happening" side of town"

Basically, the main parts of Salisbury are divided into W. Innes and E. Innes. And the east side of this street is definitely the better place to hang out.

This area appears to be a newer building, be more well kept, and much safer. Because of all this, the better shopping and restaurants are on this side of town. Some examples of retail include: Circuit City, Old Navy, Lowe's, and Walmart. The movie theatre is also on this side of town.

Obviously, since this town is already small, it means that the majority of "life" takes place on this side of the road. Therefore, I would definitely consider living near it to be more desirable.

"Not too impressed..."

I just moved to this area, and this is a very popular street in Concord. I find myself traveling down it all the time.

There are plenty of things to do on this road: restaurants, retail, banks, gyms, doctor's offices, etc.

Unfortunately, this area seems to be going down and becoming ghetto in certain areas. Then again, this often occurs when a road becomes highly trafficked.

I don't see a problem with shopping in this area - it is not what I would consider unsafe. But I wouldn't want to live here.

"Just moved here!"

Honestly, I just moved to this road, Nellie Beaver, but I thought that I would provide a review based on my initial findings.

First of all, I actually love living out on this country road. It is very secluded and safe. Not to mention, it is in a good school system.

And lastly, there is obviously a downside to living out in the country. It means that you have to drive further to get to places. There is a gas station and Hardee's about 5 minutes up the road. But if you want retail, restaurants, etc., you'll need to go about 5 to 10 minutes further.

"Just a small country drive"

Daves Drive is a very small road with only a few neighbors. Most people on this road are either related or know each other very well. This keeps the road extremely safe and very quiet.

Some people may not like living on a non-paved road. This is definitely a downside, but it goes with the atmosphere. Luckily, it also makes the road extremely private and secluded. It is great for kids being able to play in the yard or letting a dog run around.

Lastly, this is an excellent school district. East Rowan is one of the coveted areas to live because of school.

"Easy lake access"

Bringle Ferry Rd. is quite a long road, so your experience will vary depending upon the area you're on. Regardless, Bringle Ferry is a safe and quiet road and becomes even more so the further into the country you get.

The most desired place to live on this road would be at the lake area. Unfortunately, there are only two small restaurants and gas stations nearby. But most people consider this a small sacrifice if having the lake in their back yard.

"Quiet and peaceful in the country"

Depending how far down, Stokes Ferry Rd. may seem very simple. To some extent, it is. But the people and the community make living in the country worthwhile.

You may not have immediate access to all stores & restaurants depending upon your location. Even if you're really far down, the worst to expect would be 10 minutes away from town.

I would recommend this road to anyone. It is extremely safe, and there some great neighborhood or private lots.

"Deteriorating – Glad to be gone"

I only lived on Patriot Parkway for about six months. I was particularly unsatisfied with my apartment complex, Gable Oaks. On a whole, there were always people walking around the parking lot and even on the road at night. It definitely did not make me feel safe.

It is my opinion that these apartments on Patriot Parkway will gradually deteriorate as this area becomes more ghetto.

Luckily for me, I have returned to the country, where it is nice and peaceful, and so much safer!
