"pretty nice street, near train"

Jefferson Avenue is a street in the Dongan Hills area of Staten Island. I actually like this street a lot, it is quiet and there are some nice homes. It is older and not fancy but very well maintained. This area has a friendly, neighborly feel to it. This street is nicer than many surrounding neighborhood streets. It is near the train and a park, so it is convenient in that aspect.

"ok area, convenient to train"

Stobe Avenue is a fairly quiet neighborhood. It is near Macarthur Park which is a plus. It is quiet and safe, but a little run down and older. It is mostly duplexes and homes converted into apartments. There is a train stip nearby on Jefferson Ave that is very convenient. There is some green space from the park. There is not much in the way of shopping or dining, strictly residential.

"quiet neighborhood near park"

Dongan Hills is a quiet older neighborhood. It is a little run-down and dreary feeling. However, it is a safe area, and cuts right nearby Macarthur Park. There are single family homes, houses converted into apartments, and some apartment buildings on this road. This is a decent, fairly inexpensive area of SI.

"safe, nice neighborhood"

Magnolia Ave is in the Dongan Hills neighborhood of SI. It is a very quiet, older neighborhood, with lots of trees and mostly single family homes, but some duplexes and apartments. It is very quiet and safe, fairly nice but not super upscale. It is near Hylan Blvd for easy access to shopping and restaurants. Macarthur Park is also nearby, which is really nice.

"nice area, lots of apartments"

I lived on Stonegate Dr, there are tons of apartments and condos back in this area. It is very quiet and safe. It is a pleasant neighborhood, with many large trees, and a more "small-town" neighborly feel. It is not too expensive, a little more than bad parts of town but worth it because it is quite nice. The only drawbacks are no shopping or restaurants very close by (within walking distance), but that is the trade off for living in a more residential area vs commercialized areas.

"older, fairly safe area"

I lived on Quinn St many years ago. It is a fairly quiet street with the exception of a lot of sirens from the nearby hospital. Quinn St is in Stapleton, which has a reputation for being unsafe and not very nice, but it has improved in recent years. There are a lot of housing projects nearby. But overall neighbors are friendly and look out for each other, and crime is on the decline. I would not feel frightened in this neighborhood but would not really recommend living here either.

"lots of traffic, some nice areas"

Victory Blvd is a major road that cuts E-W across Staten Island. I am most familar with the section of the road in the Westerleigh neighborhood as I had a friend live in this area. This road is busy but just 2 lanes in many areas so that makes it congested. There is a lot of shopping in the way of strip malls, and restaurants such as delis and carryout places, but no upscale shopping or fine dining. Still, it is a safe area, just a little older.

"busy road, connects to many major points on the Island"

Richmond Ave. is a very busy major road that cuts all the way across Staten Island. It passes through both residential and commercial areas. The north and south ends are very busy and congested but have some shopping and restaurants, not very upscale but ok. Staten Island Mall is located on Richmond Ave. It is an older mall and shopping there is not great, but it is functional and safe.

"not much in this area"

Independence Avenue is a very short street that does not serve much purpose other than to connect Richmond Ave with Forest Hill. This is not an especially good area of SI, but not extremely unsafe. It is just a little run-down and somewhat desolate. There is some shopping off Independence Ave but nothing special, a KMart and a strip mall. Otherwise there is not much reason to visit this street.

"avoid this area!"

Jersey Street is in one of the worst neighborhoods on Staten Island. This is a really run-down, high crime area. I made the mistake of driving through looking at cheap apartments, should have known it was too good to be true. I just made sure my doors were locked and drove on through! It just has a really bad feel to it, by the condition of the buildings and streets, they are very run down, lots of vandalism and trash, etc. This is a really bad and unsafe neighborhood, I would not recommend visiting or living here.
