"Affordable living in Boulder County, great schools and parks!"

I have lived in Longmont for almost 30 years. I came here because housing was more affordable then the rest of Boulder County. I have seen it change and grow. Longmont has a lot to offer. Housing is still the most affordable in Boulder County. It has great bike trails and open space, close to the mountains and Rocky Mountain National Park is a short drive. The schools are supported and we just voted a mill levy increase to support St Vrain Valley School District.
There are lot's of free activities and concerts during the summer, the art world is well represented and supported, there is live theater and a vibrant downtown area.
Shopping is a bit sparse but the Twin Peaks Mall is under new ownership and will soon be demolished and will offer a state of the art movie theater and more abundant shopping. Over all, it's a beautiful place to live, great schools, supportive community with lot's of recreation opportunities!
Pros
  • great views
  • local organic food
  • more affordable than Boulder
