"Convenience, quiet area and great neighbors"

Close to the metro, quiet, green, family friendly. This is one of the few places left in DC that actually has affordable homes walking distance to the metro - red, yellow and green lines. The only drawback is that there really isn't much within walking distance with the exception of the Yes Organic Market. So if you are looking for an affordable home, a yard, and a place to raise kids or dogs, and the convenience of the easy metro access - this is a great place. However, if you are looking for nightlife, bars, clubs and shopping - I don't recommend this area. Yeah, crime happens, but it's mostly petty crime and certainly less of it than in most parts of DC. I have lived in this area for the past 8 years and no complaints yet. Neighbors are friendly and helpful too which is a huge plus for me. Plus this neighborhood is walking distance from the Turkey Thicket rec center where there is a beautiful, large indoor pool, basketball court etc etc.

  • friendly neighbors
  • biking path is nearby
  • recreational oppertunities
