"China in San Francisco Plus More"

This can be a crazy street. This street runs through the heart of Chinatown. It is always packed and congested with traffic, but it’s really fun to enjoy the culture. There are great restaurants, groceries, and tourist shops in Chinatown. Once you get through the Stockton tunnel, you get to more corporate, high-end stores such as Macy’s, Nike, Levi’s, and Barney’s. The further you go down, there’s the Sony Metreon which is a cool building with a movie theater there. There are some great restaurants in that area as well as the Moscone Center, which is a convention center with a lot of event going on throughout the year. Trust me, you could spend the entire day exploring Stockton St.

"So Much Action on Market"

Market St. is probably one of the busiest and more popular streets in San Francisco. All the major corporation stores are on or off this street. It gets crowded towards the Union Square area and you will always see tourist taking pictures and admiring the city. I actually work on Market and its very fun being on this street. There are interesting street vendors as well as people playing instruments for money. From my office I can hear saxophones, flutes, etc. The Bart is located all throughout Market for public transportation. The places I’ve been on Market or commercial buildings so I really don’t know how residential living would be, but I can imagine it being expensive.

"Washington Square Park Rocks!"

Union St. is an awesome street. I really like the part in North Beach. Washington Square Park is right there and a perfect spot to relax and read book on a nice sunny day. It’s a really small park and can get crowded on a nice day, but is still a great spot to just enjoy the surroundings. There are great restaurants there such as Mario’s, Tuk Tuk Thai, and my favorite brewery/trivia spot Rogue Ale House. Unions St. in the Marina is a nice street to walk down on a beautiful day. There are great boutiques as well as great mom and pop restaurants. I highly recommend Marina Subs and if you are craving a cupcake, That Takes the Cake is an excellent spot.

"A Great Walk"

Columbus Ave. goes from North Beach to the Financial District. I use to walk down this street to work in the morning and always got my day going in a good way. In the North Beach area, there are a lot of great restaurants and delis, but there are a ton of coffee houses in the area. They are always a great spot to stop off at in the morning. One thing that can get annoying is at the intersection of Columbus and Broadway there are the strip clubs. The guys that work the doors always try to get you to go in aw you walk by, but I guess I can’t hate because that’s their jobs.

"Summer of Love, Now"

Haight St. is very interesting spot in San Francisco. It was the center of the hippie movement back in the day with the Grateful Dead living off the street and performing concert there all the time. They have some really cool shops and restaurants up and down the street. It’s always a great spot to people watch, as you will see some very unique people. The downfall is there are a lot of homeless people up and down the street. Also, you will get bothered by people who are selling drugs as well. My advice is just ignoring them and enjoy what Haight Street has to offer.

"Tourists Central Galore!"

The Embarcadero is great spot with many tourists. It is right along that bay with great scenery. Of course, Fisherman’s Warf or Pier 39 is right there. There are a lot of neat shops and restaurants there. You can also take the tour of Alcatraz, as the boats load and drop off there. There are some really nice and new condos being built throughout the street. Also AT&T Park is right there and is where the San Francisco Giants play. It’s always a fun time and is honestly one of the nicest and most beautiful baseball stadiums in the country. Also the Ferry Building is there as well with a great farmers market on Saturdays.

"Great Food in the Mission"

Mission St. is basically the heart of the Latino Culture in the Mission District. It’s not the cleanest street, but there are some great little shops and the best taquerias in city, hands down. I am a huge fan of El Farolito. They have great food for a great price. The restaurants that look a little weary are always the best authentic Mexican you can find. I also worked on Mission in SOMA. This is much cleaner with big office buildings around. Also there is a great park on Mission called Yerba Buena. This is a great spot to relax and take a break from work. Also sometimes, they have free musical performance on Thursday during the day there. If you’re around the area then, check it out.

"A Nice Street"

Chestnut St. is just a great family street in my opinion. There are some great houses and apartments up and down Chestnut from North Beach to the Marina. There are also great shops, restaurants, and bars as well. Mainly in the Marina, there are some great drinking spots that are very diverse. From your divey watering hole to a more trendy spots like Circa, you can always have fun on Chestnut.

"Fillmore St. is Very Diverse"

Fillmore is a very interesting street. I live on Fillmore and it’s quite a unique street. I live more in the Pac Heights area which has great shops and restaurants. There further north you go, there are some nice houses and bars and trendy restaurants towards the Marina. Now Fillmore also has a great Jazz District. Yoshi’s and other great spots are there, but the further south you go can get a little sketchy. The Lower Haight has some great stores and restaurants. You pretty much get a lot for one street on Fillmore. Oh yeah, also the music venue the Fillmore is a great venue with good bands always there.

"Lombard St. Has It All"

Lombard is a great street that gives you a lot to see in San Francisco. My brother lived by Coit Tower right there on Telegraph Hill. There are a lot of nice houses on Lombard St. on that end. Also you can get a great view of the crooked street more towards Russian Hill. The crooked street is a tourist trap, but something you have to see. If you go past that, you end up in the Marina which has some great spots then will eventually lead you into the Presidio. All in all, this a great street to in San Francisco.

"Pac Heights is a Great Spot"

Pacific Heights is a great neighborhood to live in. I live more on the lower Pac Heights area on Fillmore (still considered Pacific Heights), but have the best of both worlds. Japantown and the Kabuki Theatre are a block away. So you get the culture and it takes me about 3 minutes to walk to the Theatre, so I should never have an excuse to be late to a movie. If you go south on Fillmore, the Fillmore music venue is right there. It is an amazing small venue with great and nationally known acts always there. It can sometimes be a sketchy neighborhood, but there are some great restaurant and good jazz places there. Yoshi’s and 1300 Fillmore are down that way, and I suggest you check them out. If you go north on Fillmore, it’s a nicer neighborhood with cute and trendy shops. It’s not a big hill and great to stroll through on a nice sunny day. As far as bars in the area, there’s the Boom Boom Room, Harry’s, Fishbowl, and Lion’s Den. Not too much of a selection, but they are fun places. Also there is a great park with a good view of the city at the top of the hill called Alta Vista Park.
