"A Friendly, Neighborly spirit!"

Mann is a rapidly changing area that is packed with young hipsters, cool older people, and lots of younger couples and small children with a desire to socialize and get to know each other. People are very friendly here! They help each other out, get to know each other, and there are lots of impromptu neighborhood events. The neighborhood itself is composed of historical old craftsman and the general consensus around here is to restore rather than teardown and rebuilt modern and new--there are lots of beautiful updated older homes.

The neighborhood is surrounded by many up and coming areas, some having already arrived. On union there is the friendly woman-owned coffee shop Cortona, the hip Scandinavian cafe Union coffee, Squirrel Chops (rustic coffee plus a haircut) and of course the delicious Feed Co. Burgers. Chucks Hop Shop is a local hang-out for everyone (dogs and kids welcome!) serving something like over 80 different miscobrews on top (and ice-cream too!). On Cherry lives Coyote Central; a wonderful non-profit for creative youth classes (cooking to painting). And lets not forget Lotus Thai and the plethora of delicious Ethiopian! Yum yum

It is close enough to downtown to walk (30-40 minutes) and there are so many corridors to get to downtown on, traffic is not a problem like elsewhere (no Mountlake gridlock over here). People here are bike-enthusiasts, community enthusiasts, and the neighborhood is lined with big old trees and dotted with small parks. Definitely a younger vibe, a fun vibe, a friendly, good vibe to these growing/changing parts!
