"Short street in Brooklyn"

India Street is a very short street in Brooklyn going from McGuinness Blvd to the docks by the river on Kent Ave. India is very quiet and relaxed in the residential part but the area aruond the docks (right by the river) could get a bit hectic. There are factories around and the trucks make it pretty loud. Although there are no stores right on India it is very close to any type of shopping. A few bars on Greenpoint Ave, which is about three blocks away. Recommended for grown ups with no little kids since the neighborhood itself could be unsafe (questionably) at night. Nevertheless, it is a pretty street with trees and close to a park.

"Nice residential street"

Humboldt Street is mostly a residential place although there are a few factories on the Greenpoint side. Huboldt is one of the longest streets I know, it goes from Greenpoint all the way to Williamsburg. The whole street is made up of houses and residential buildings. Not too many stores here except for a few deli places and fruit stores. The Williamsburg side is more lively though. Great place to live for anyone-familes, elderly, young people. Close to churches, schools and parks. A few blocks away are bigger stores and a bigger variety of places to go to. Nightlife is walking distance and it is about half-an-hour train ride from downtoen Manhattan.

"Eckford is one of the nicer places here"

Eckford Street is one of the nicer streets in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The good thing about this street is that the street itself is a nice quiet place to live in and it is very close to shopping. Two blocks over is Manhattan Ave which is filled with all kinds of shops and retsaurants. The poepl are very friendly here, ranging from young kids to seniors. Mainly Polish area it is now being populated by non-polish residents which makes the place diverse and very interesting to say the least. Very close to groceries, right next to schools (Catholic and public), parks and nightlife.

"Nice but nothing special"

Devoe Street is on of those quiet streets runnign along big avenues. Metropolitan Avenue in this case. The street itself is usually very quiet and not very crowded other that when the children leave a school that is located on it. There are a lot of small family houses, some are raggedy but there are new housing complexes beiing built on the street which will lure in more newcomers. No shops on the street itself but it is right next to Metropolitan Ave which is filled with shops, grocery stores, restuarants, lounges, a White Castle, flower shops, etc. I like the street because it is in between of being old and new.

"Quiet Street close to parks and shopping"

Russell Street is on of the quieter streets. Located right on it is McGorlick Park with a big playground perfect for kids to play and parents to relax on the surrounding benches. There is a Met Food right on Russell and Driggs Ave and plenty of agencies, deli stores, Polish grocery stores, and shopping of all kind very close-by. Although Russell itself is very quiet and calm it is great for eldery people or families with children to enjoy the more seren paart of Brooklyn. I would recommend moving there for anyone who likes quiet but needs to be close to shopping and restaurants. It is very safe and enjoyable, pet friendly and very family oriented.

"Great for a bike ride"

Kent Ave runs along the river and the views breathtaking. You can see the midtown and downtown of Manhattan from this street. It is surrounded by factory buildings, old warehouses and some houses. It is not good for little kids. It is good for taking photos as there most buildings are old and Manhattan's skyscrapers are pretty well visible. Not very safe at night but during the day it makes a great place for a bike ride. Visit the new park on Kent Ave and North 6th and have a picnic while relaxing and looking at the New York City skyline.

"Awesome place for everyone"

Bedford Ave has transformed in the past few years into one of the most interesting places in Brooklyn. It is a very crowded place, at all hours, yet filled with great venues such as restaurants, coffee shops, lounges, bars, and shops. It is a great place to go shopping (a mini-mall is located right on Bedford Ave and North 5th) and there are varieties of restuarants ranging from Thai to Polish cuisines. Take your family out or go on a date to one of the lounges that offer good food and great music. The most lively street in that area of Brooklyn.

"The center of Greenpoint"

Manhattan Ave is the shopping center of Greenpoint. Filled with shops of all kinds, from grocery stores to perfume shops to clothing boutiques it is the busisest street in the neighborhood. It runs all the way through to Williamsburg and it is just as interesting there. It is a great place for going out and having fun at one of the restuarants or bars or shopping for just about anything you need. There are all kinds of stores there where you can buy anything you need (no car dealerships).

"Mysterious and beautiful"

Guernsey Street is one of those side streets you find in a neighborhood which not many people know about, but it is one of the prettiest. Half of this street is filled with huge trees that fold at their tops making a kind of a tunnel above the street. It is a quiet place, right next to stores and restaurants and the post office. It is a nice place for seniors to live and children to play as it is quiet.

"Quiet-Great for a Walk"

Newel Street is one of the prettiest streets in Greenpoint. It is full of nicely kept, clean housing units. The trees on both sides of the whole street make it a perfect place for a stroll in the evening. Even though there are not too many stores or restaurants on Newel it is close to plenty or great shops and grocery stores as well as nice restaurants. Walking on Newel is great if you want to avoid the chaos of the crowded parallel avenues.
