"Bustling main street, but quiet beautiful side streets"

My best friend from college lived on Queens Blvd right up the road from the E/F station at Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike entrance (nice quick hop to Manhattan on those lines). Being from Northern NJ, I was a bit skeptical about moving into this area with her after school- because everything in NY to me is the "city;" however, I learned quickly. This place is pretty cool- great authentic cultural cuisine (AMAZING roast chicken on the Blvd.) People are friendly; traffic is a bit bustling (located right next to the Grand Central Pkwy for easy access to NYC and Long Island); we live in one of the nice apartments located right on the Blvd, but the side streets across from the tube station are beautiful- it's like you walk out of a bustling central part of town right into a quaint little suburban housing district. The homes are actually quite beautiful, which makes the area a nice work in/live in (as well as take a nice walk in) environment. It is definitely a go go go area that is typical of NY living, so don't expect quiet Pleasantville attitude, but it's a multicultural and joyful experience living here. I'd recommend it for singles and young couples, but I probably wouldn't want to raise my kids here.

"Beautiful residential in Hoboken"

Again, I know the area closest to Grand and Adams better than anywhere else, but I used to travel down 3rd towards the hospital to get to Washington on my way home. However, I did notice that it's mainly residential again, and it seems brighter down this street because of the angle it is with the sunlight during the day. It's also a clear shot to my fav. Sinatra and Hoboken Shore Drive

"Nice area to live closer to midtown"

I don't know much about Adams Street passed 8th Street because my friend used to live at the Grand Adams Apartments, but I do know that it's a pretty quiet street most of the time with the exception on the weekends when people get lost walking around after a hard night on Grand Street. There are mainly residences on the street and it's pretty quiet.

"Garden Street by 4th Street area"

I love Garden Street because you can do a little shopping, grab lunch and then go hang out in the park between 4th and 5th Streets. I used to take my little brother for pizza there and then to the park when he was a bit younger when I used to visit Hoboken a few years ago. We'd grab a quick bite and then go play basketball and just relax for the afternoon.

"Nice views and dining"

Sinatra Drive actually turns into Hoboken Shore Drive, so the views are the same on both areas of the street, but Sinatra offers up some really nice dining areas that are reasonably priced for the area and a few of them offer outside eating which makes the view a great addition to a date meal.

"River Street up by the park close to 4th"

All along River Street are residences above shops that are great places to shop at. I prefer the area by 4th Street though because it's an area that seems to just "open-up" in the very-city feel of Hoboken. It's like a breath of fresh air in this area and across from the park (I think it's called Steven Park) are nice little shops (I like shopping obviously) and you can grab some lunch and eat in the park. It's enjoyable.

"Nice Place to Live/Shop"

I was first on 4th Street with a friend from Hoboken and he and I were actually just walking around from River Street. I had seen this bridal boutique Koru Weddings and I actually returned about a month later to check it out. The shop was nice and went well with the street (semi-quiet for Hoboken). 4th also offers other shops that are small and quaint and very close to the NYC skyline.

"Nice place to have your apartment"

Willow Ave in Hoboken is a nice place for a walk---I've done this many times in my drunken Hoboken stupor and have wandered in and out the little side streets that dissect it. It's full of a lot of places to live and they are nice if you're into the whole downtown living feel---I'm not but I do like to visit the area and if you did live here, at least you're close to a bunch of shops and a great nightlife.

"Between Adams and Garden"

There are a few residential areas on 12th Street, but not one of those residences is a place I'd like to live in. I got lost in this area and it's very NOT the place you want to be at 3 am with a flat tire that's for sure. It's not comforting to try and find your way out until you see Grand or Adams---that's when I let out a sigh of relief.

"Bar-hopping and beautiful residences"

My friend lived in the Grand Adams apartment building so we used to hop up to his place before and after our bar-hopping extravaganzas during the weekends. Grand Street is absolutely awesome, and I feel safer there than hopping in NYC that's for sure. The area is full of awesome bars including a favorite Willie McBride's, where I used to go to see my fav band Monster play when they were there. The only issue is parking...it's near impossible ANYWHERE in Hoboken, let alone on Grand Street.

"Beautiful views of NYC"

My friend Chris has an apartment in Hoboken, so this is how I know the area and we used to go driving down Hoboken Shore Drive every night for the longest time. It offers some of the most beautiful and breathtaking views of the New York City skyline at night that I've ever seen. I used to drive to Edgewater for views like that, but I find that the Hoboken skyscape is much nicer as it's a clear stretch across the Hudson. I've taken gorgeous pics from this road.
