"A working people city, with good parks for recreation and excellent government."

I love Hialeah because of it,s Latin influence, specially Cuban Americans and recent
influx of other Latin American nations that makes it a true melting pot of cultures, including new generations born in the States. Most people are bilingual or speak "Spanglish", a mix of spanish and eveyday words like "grocery" "downtown"
and so on.

There are many excellent Cuban, Nicaraguan, Salvadoran and othe ethnic food stores and restaurant where you can savor the specialties dishes of these countries in a friendly and congenial atmosphere at affordable prices.

The local goverment is very well run and takes very good care of the many public parks and recreation areas, city taxes are low compared to other South Florida cities, houses are well maintained and care for since latins pride in having attained
status of homeowners. The public school system is run by the Dade County Board of Education, one of the largest in the Country.

The local economy used to be small textile and other manufacturing industries but it has changed to mostly small family owned stores, restaurants and all kinds of personal services in a lot a strip malls, althoug there are a few Malls. Access to major highways is thru State Rd. 826 or as is locally known the Palmetto Xpressway.
and other major arteries that connect with -95, I-75 North and State Rd 41.

All in all, I would recommed Hialeah for any body looking to settle in a good, generally safe area of low taxes and familiar neigbohoods.
