"active in the heart of urban/residential sf"

Landers' proximity to Church St and its amenities and public transit ensures that it's pretty busy in the area almost around the clock. Neighboring the Castro, the Mission, as well as Market st, it's a common waypoint for a lot of protests, marches, and general traffic noise so may not be the best place to live unless you have thick walls and windows. But lots of great food in the area and easily accessible to local and bay transit.

"the true perfect san francisco experience"

Right off of embarcadero, Ferry Slip is next to the Ferry Building and all of its wonderful amenities as well as walking distance to Pier 39, Fisherman's, Union Square for all kinds of restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. On a sunny day, it's a perfect place to sit out for an urban picnic and browse through the nearby farmer's market and art setups at Embarcadero Center.

"great food close to financial district"

It's a very tiny street that feels more like an alley - tucked away in the heart of the financial district area. Hidden among the larger streets and even larger buildings, is a very quiet oasis with some food offerings (City View dim sum is a very popular place with great quality) and enough turnover to find decent parking.

"quiet but a great place to walk/run"

Located in the heart of Golden Gate Park, this road runs between the North Lake and the Muni Golf Course. Being a park, it's a great area to run or jog, but the golf course is great as well. It's a short 9 hole course often rated as the best place to play as a single player.

"Rapidly developing area with access to lots of amenities"

With the addition of the T line a couple years ago, Mariposa and 3rd is right in the heart of a lot of urban development in San Francisco. Close to the ballpark and lots of new commercial places being built to support the multitude of high end condos and lofts being constructed. Most of the food is less mom and pop though, but still a pleasant area.

"Up and coming area but still a long ways to go"

There are a lot of great work/life lofts in the area as well as several buildings home to catering companies, food suppliers, and industrial/warehousing stuff. However, it's still relatively unsafe at night but rapidly improving due to the vast housing improvements in the area with high end condos. Amenities are springing up and more to come. There is a very ghetto CalTrain stop in the area that only some trains stop at, but it's located under and overpass in the middle of a tent city so at night it's a little scary.

"Quiet street hidden nearby major streets"

It's a very short street, but because it's somewhat hidden, there are great opportunities to find parking which is nearby great restaurants and bars on Divisadero which is one street over. It's also close to the N-Judah if you need to go elsewhere in the city as well as walking distance to the Castro.

"Very quiet and hidden"

It's a tiny street that dead ends into the Duboce dog park so if you're a dog lover or owner, this is a great location. Close to the N Judah and groceries on Church. It's very quiet, but since it's a small and narrow street, getting in and our, and finding parking on it, may be a little tough.

"Getting a little close to shadier areas but still solid"

Right next to Fillmore, the street has access to lots of amenities, some urban retail, great food in the Lower Haight, lots of salon services and proximity to parks and public transit. It is admittedly getting a little close to some of the shadier areas and is bordering some of the higher crime areas but still a relatively peaceful street.

"Relatively peaceful haven in the city"

To the north, you've got Alamo Square (home of the Painted Ladies, hilly park space, a tennis court, and great views of the city) and to the south you've got Duboce Park (for dogs) which has a great cafe nearby as well as a convenient N Judah stop. At the intersection with Haight, Burger Joint is a great neighborhood backyard-style burger, and good cafes and restaurants on neighboring streets. And once a year, there is a "dead enders" block party that all are welcome to which is a great event.
