"Always a traffic jam"

I've lived near or worked on this road for most of my life. While it serves as a main route from I-95 through north Wilmington, it just isn't big enough to handle all the traffic and there are so many traffic lights. It spends most of the time under construction trying to solve the problems but as soon as construction is completed, more lanes are needed. There are many shopping centers and restaurants along the route and anything you could possibly need can be found along this road but locals do anything they can to avoid driving on it.

"Great neighborhood in Hockessin"

This is one of the early developments in the Hockessin area -- established when the Hockessin post office was too small to handle all the new houses so we were put in the Newark zip code which is very confusing for people trying to find you. The great thing about this area is that the houses are big and the yards are huge because land was cheap in the 80's and you could get a lot of house for a little money compared to neighborhoods in north Wilmington. Hockessin has grown tremendously and therefore there is plenty of shopping and restaurants close by. Also, there is a large library, a PAL center and two beautiful county parks close by. The University of Delaware is only 10 minutes down the road. The area has a very rural feel -- there is even a dairy farm right down the road in nearby Pennsylvania. It's a bit of a drive to get to I-95 and the city of Wilmington but it's a very vibrant area with lots to offer.

"Beautiful out of the way setting"

This street is right off of Kennett Pike in beautiful Centreville. It is a dead end street with a few lovely upscale homes tucked back in the woods. It is short drive to downtown Wilmington or the shopping on Concord Pike but provides quiet seclusion and lots of opportunity for bird watching. You'll frequently see neighbors out walking their dogs and everyone looks out for each other. It's a small community so you have as much privacy as you want but it's a great place to either raise a family because there are woods and ponds and lots of open space to explore. Because of the location and the size of the properties, the homes have excellent value. Even in the current weak housing market my parents just sold their home in less than a week.

"City living in a secluded setting"

Rockford Road is a great location for someone who wants to live in the city but still have green space around them. It borders beautiful Rockford Park which is the only off leash dog park in the city and literally comes to life after 5 pm with people and dogs all coming together to play and socialize. There are four tennis courts in good condition and three baseball diamonds in the park for the public's use and Rockford Tower is a historic site open to the public on weekends. Rockford Road is within walking distance to trendy Trolley Square which is full of excellent restaurants and bars. The neighborhood is clean and safe, the neighbors are friendly and the property values are good. It's a short ride to all main roads in north Wilmington and therefore close to everything. I loved living here!

"Nice neighborhood, close to everything"

I grew up on this street and it was a great location. It is only 5 blocks from busy Concord Pike so it's close to all the shopping and restaurants but is a nice established neighborhood with large trees and nice homes. The schools in the area are excellent and there are plenty of open spaces close by where you can walk your dog, play frisbee or hit a few golf balls. People of all ages live in the neighborhood and it is a great place to raise a family. The houses are spacious and all have nice sized yards so you are not on top of your neighbor.
