"Great little neighborhood"

I'm actually on the Clinton Hill/Bed-Stuy border between Bedford and Nostrand, but I can't speak as well to the area past Nostrand, so I'm posting here. I just love this neighborhood. Great restaurants, bars, and cafes, (Sud, Colador Cafe, the Black Swan, Do or Dine), friendly neighbors, safe and quiet at night. It's a nice mix of locals and transplants and students. The G is way more convenient than anybody will give it credit for (you can get to Manhattan several different ways--I can get to Union Square in 20 minutes). I get home from work after 1 am fairly frequently, and I've never felt unsafe or uneasy. There are rats and such, but hey, it's NYC. My main complaint is trash--we live on the ground floor, and it's constantly blowing into our yard.
