"Hillrock Drive- a great place to be"

Hillrock is a little known secret in South Euclid, and in the area. It is tucked away in a maze of side streets, yet it is close to everything. I often tell people that it's in the neighborhood behind Brush High/Memorial Jr. High, and just south of the Euclid Creek reservation. We have the benefit of having more modern homes (most of the homes were built in the late 1960's),with graceful and large trees, proximity to the Heights/University Circle, etc., yet access to everything one may want - whether it's access to Beachwood Mall or Legacy Village (just three miles away), I-271, or downtown via I-90.

As for the neighborhood, you will find many younger children here. You will also notice that it is very pet friendly. Most of my neighbors (including myself) have pets, and you constantly see people taking walks with their dogs and their young children. My immediate neighbors are friendly without being too friendly, and we look out for each other.

I have also found that the emergency response is very fast. My house alarm sounded (the result of some pesky weather stripping), and the South Euclid PD was here immediately.

The only down side is that SE has been hit hard by the housing crisis, so home values are not what they were just three years ago. Things seem to have levelled off, and fewer homes are for sale. This is good to see.

A potential other down side is that, depending on the home, some updating may be needed. Especially with respect to windows, kitchens, and bathrooms. Regardless, these homes have great bones, as does mine.

I do not have children, so I cannot speak about the school system. We passed the last levy, yet the ratings seem to have fallen. I am an alumni of the school system myself, and I felt that I received a great education that prepared me for college and grad school, however.

All in all, I think this is a tremendous neighborhood, and I am very happy to be here.
