"Perfect tree lined street were everyone says hello."

I lived on the street for 7 years and could not feel any more at home anywhere in Westchester. The kids play together, neighbors know and care about each other and its walk able to everything yet just far enough away at the same time to provide a great family neighborhood. The only negative is that there is a little too much traffic.
Pros
  • The people
  • Walk to everything
  • Proximity to transporation
Cons
  • Traffic

"One of Yonkers premier communities."

Lawrence Park has always been one of the city's showpieces, It's a beautiful, peaceful, residential neighborhood that shares a post office and ZIP code with its Bronxville counterpart. A really nice place to live or raise a family.

TonyMurphy PRO Lawrence Park is just to the west of Bronxville and shares a Zip code and post office with its neighbor but has Yonkers schools and taxes.

"Vibrant and friendly, a truly great place to call home."

I have lived in this terrific neighborhood for almost 20 years and highly recommend it for a variety of reasons, such as a wonderful sense of community, proximity to shopping, transportation, restaurants/night life, schools, parks and recreation. Southeast Yonkers really does have that small town feel with friendly local businesses, tree lined streets and a truly friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Landmarks of southeastern Yonkers include the Cross County Shopping Center and Yonkers Raceway. This mostly Irish-American (many of the Irish being native born) and Italian-American neighborhood borders the Bronx and another great neighborhood to its south know as the Woodlawn section. Many residents regard eastern McLean Avenue, home to a vibrant Irish community shared with the Woodlawn section of the Bronx, to be the true hub of Yonkers. A great neighborhood to call home, 2 thumbs way up!
Pros
  • PublicTranporation
  • Tibbets Park
  • Close to the City
  • good place to raise children
  • good shopping
  • strong sense of community

"Wonderful tree lined streets with a wide variety of Architectural styles on display."

The Park Hill neighborhood largely consists of vintage single-family homes east of Broadway in southwest Yonkers. Many of its homes have sweeping views overlooking the rest of the city as it slopes down to the water. Featuring parks and green spaces, including Pelton Field and Sullivan Park which have ball fields and basketball courts and the wooded Sutherland Park, which overlooks the Hudson River. There is a great neighborhood association and the Park Hill Racquet Club serves as a kind of community center for Park Hill residents with four clay tennis courts, two swimming pools, four bowling alleys, a clubhouse, ballroom and catering hall. Proximity to the city makes it an idea commuter location.
Pros
  • Just minutes to all major highways.

"Great neighborhood with close proximity to Manhattan."

Sandwiched between major thoroughfares such as Central Park Avenue and McLean Avenue, Lincoln Park exists as a distinct residential oasis of tree-lined streets. Even though the Gov. Thomas E. Dewey Thruway is just east of the neighborhood, there is surprisingly little noise or traffic on the streets, which resemble those of a small middle-American town far removed from the normal bustle of southern Westchester County. A truly great place to live.
Pros
  • Tibbets Brook Park
  • Walk to shopping
