"Great neighborhood, frequent turnover"

Lived here for 3 years, totally different world from JPA! Lots of young people just starting out, with young kids. Neighborhood is Willoughby. Playground is good, and you can walk all over the 'hood without getting run over. Not much traffic since it's a dead end street! Some mature trees, good-sized yards, mostly well-kept. There are some rental townhomes off one street inside the subdivision, but you don't see many residents out and about--seems safe enough. C'ville has more great restuarants per capita than any other town I've ever visited, and everything is within a ten-minute drive--and that's WITH traffic, which there hardly ever is any!

"Quiet, undiscovered neighborhood SO close to EVERYTHING!"

We lived here for several years, just moved away last year, and loved it--and so did our friends, who were always surprised to find this colonial subdivision tucked away among older ranch homes. There are so many mature trees--it's nice and shady in summer. The whole neighborhood is really well kept up--there's a beautiful entrance with brick bridge over a stream, weeping willows, and crape myrtles. Dues are low--about $90 a YEAR. The neighbors (mostly the retired people and young moms) are out every day to gossip--and ask you questions if you get caught outside by them! Good mix of ages. I always felt like someone had an eye on my house--in a good way! I'd walk around the neighborhood every day for exercise--all houses well kept. The coolest part of the Olde Hermitage Subdivision is how close it is to the intersection of Parham and Broad, and Short Pump, and Downtown--and all the highways, 64, 95, 295. So much shopping and food right at your fingertips! There was one club a few miles away, but we never did stuff like that, so can't rate it. I'd totally live there again, and some of our friends are keeping an eye out for houses for sale in there.
