"Bedroom Community for Retirees"

One stoplight, one grocery, cute main street with rural uniqueness. Outdoor adventure abounds. Schools are extremely poor both in rigor and finances. Would not recommend for those with children seeking rigorous education. The one exception is Brandywine Elementary School in nearby Brandywine. Top 10 school twice; once in 2014 and 2010. Rare standout education there. County schools converge in Franklin to the combination middle/high school. Area great for seeing the stars, cheap property tax, and low rental fees. Property sales to outsiders can be excessively high. Water availability is a challenge away from town - be sure to check for water before you buy, it is not readily available. Perfect locale for retirees with money - you get a lot for your money.
Pros
  • No light pollution
  • People are nice
  • Nice for retirees
Cons
  • No nightlife
  • No variety to eat out
  • Bad Schools
Recommended for
  • Retirees
  • Tourists
  • Country Lovers
