"Great, old-fashioned neighborhood"

I live in the 900 block of Alta Loma Drive in Corona, California. This is a very nice family neighborhood. It is not a *fancy* neighborhood -- it is a working class neighborhood -- but for good old down-home friendliness and family-orientation, it is excellent. The street itself is lined with mature shade trees, and there are sidewalks for the children to skate and play on. The terrain is flat, making it excellent for walking or jogging. One of the things I love the best about this street is the ethnic diversity. Many different cultures are represented on our block, such as Mexican, Vietnamese, Cuban, Russian and Anglo. All of the kids play well together, regardless of religion, creed or culture, and people are friendly toward one another. It is about one mile to the major freeway (91) -- close enough to be convenient, but not so close as to expose us to noise and fumes from the traffic. It is less than two miles from the Metrolink train station, where one can take a train to all points north, south, east and west. There are several major grocery chains within a three-mile radius, as well as plenty of drug stores and convenience stores. Kids in this neighborhood can WALK to an elementary school (at the end of the block), a junior high school (a few blocks away) and a major high school (three blocks). Of course, as in all neighborhoods, there are a few houses that could stand some fixing up, but overall, there is a lot of pride of ownership on this block. I have lived here for five years, and feel very fortunate to have found this neighborhood.
