"Highway 98 West"

Once a rural area of Hattiesburg, Hwy 98 West is filled with shopping centers, malls and large chain restaurants. From where I-59 intersects Hwy. 98, you will find Walmart, Target, Petsmart, Old Navy, Bed Bath and Beyond and many, many other large chain stores that are commonly found across the U.S. Turtle Creek Mall is also found on this side of town. Restaruants consist of Outback, Chili's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and many other common restaurants found in other cities. The highway is 6 lanes that is always congested with traffic. The condition of the road is goood, but trying to navigate to a certain store can be frustrating as drivers on this side of town are not very courteous. There are several subdivisions and apartment complexes for people of a wide range of income levels scattered along the parameter streets of Hwy. 98. If you prefer shopping/eating at places that are common across the U.S., then this side of town is for you.
