"A Place to Enjoy San Diego That is Also Affordable"

When visiting San Diego, we have always enjoyed the area around Mission Valley Road. It's not as expensive to stay here as it is to stay at the hotels near the beaches, but has plenty of classy restaurants, hotels, and maybe some not-so classy ones as well. (I'll post on the hotels in a separate review.) Overall, it is a comfortable place where we have spent more than one vacation week. Mission Valley Road has several things you might need while on vacation--a close-by Target store, a close-by mall, healthy restaurants in the shopping centers near the freeway, grocery stores, and about a mile away fromt he freeway, Fashion Center is a mall that is right on the public transportation route. I felt safe here, and I noticed a lot of lovely homes in the area as I explored it by car, also. I think it would be a great enighborhood to live in and it was certainly a wonderful neighborhood to make our family's temporary home while visiting San Diego. Another thing to consider is that this is a bit more of a quiet place than the beach-front hotels, so if you like to feel off the beaten trail a little more when traveling, it's an option that still leaves you some $$ in your pockets and a sense of closeness to all the marvelous aspects of this beautiful city in California.
