"A Gilmore Girls town (meetings and all) and only a 24 minute commute to Boston."

OK, We love our street and our town and we have lived in Chicago (Lincoln Park) and NY (upstate). Here is why our tree lined street is so great. All ages, young start up couples with baby and toddlers in tow, school teacher, professors, engineers, doctors and lawyers, finance guys. There are even two grumpy old men at the end of the street. We have a dead end street which over looks conservation land (never to be touched) and a pond. At the corner of Mystic Road is another dead end street overlooking more conservation land. This is a quiet street, except right after dinner when the icecream truck stops by. We have a block party. We have a holiday party. Now Marblehead has a great school district, our kids were going to go to private school in Chicago, but, all we hear from everyone is this school district is the reason why people move here. Our taxes are unbelievably low, nearby towns like Swampscott are double our tax rate. We are very excited that Marblehead is building a state of the Art gym... it is a YMCA and don't balk, it blows away Lake Shore Athletic Club in Chicago and your $89 member ship is good at all Northshore YMCAs. No tennis courts, you have to join a private club for tennis. THis is a sailing town, so plan on getting a boat or meeing someone who sails. The town is very New England and is what makes me thing of a Gilmore Girls episode. The town meetings are on TV and everyone watches them! We go out to eat once a week at a different Marblehead place or Salem or Boston. I meet my husband as often as I can in Boston for dinner. We need a better brunch joint (Oh, how we miss John's Place and the Breakfast Club...). We have great babysitters from Salem State College (education school). Shopping is pretty good (Whole foods and Trader Joe's is 1/2 mile from our street). Great shops in town (Marblehead) Shubies for wine and cheese. For doctors and hospitals Boston can not be beat. Parks and rec is over the top, many duplicate services (11 sailing schools for small kids...) One last thing... Santa arrives in a lobster boat! This town loves a parade, I have never seen a 4th of July like this one. This is a unique place, not a Disney complex, all sorts of character here. That is more than you need to know, just visit and take a walk around, without your agent.
