Doyers St is quite the unusual st. Besides being the most curvy street that I know of in New York, it is host to numerous Asian barber shops (why did they cluster on this one street) as well as a post office which for most would be impossible to find. Check it out if you are down there.

Mosco runs between Mott and the Park. This little street was home to the famous cake stand. But it still hosts a 1 dollar dumpling place and an asian grocer. Cool old-time feeling block.

One of the great streets in New York is Mott St from Worth to Canal. This is the life line of chinatown in ny. The street is vibrant with all types of restaurants and stores. My fav is Wo-Hop upstairs at 15 Mott St. The prices are reasonable and they are open late till about 3 am. Try the bakery up the block with the pink exterior.

it is hard to believe that a street in Midtown can be this quiet but it does exist, for quite a hefty price I might add. The residences are some of the largest and most exclusive in the city. Coming for a visit and want a real NY expirience there is a guy on Sutton Pl that has turned two town houses into short term furnished rentals, he is quite bizarre but the apartments are quaint and you can claim to have lived on one of the most exclusive blocks in NY.

Nothing is is more classic than than hotel life in new york. CPS is loaded with hotels even if many have gone condo in recent years. With all the great people watching and magnificent lobbies not to mention central park this is one of my favorite streets in NY. The downsides inclue a lot of traffic, people hocking black market purses and yes; the classic scent of horse dung permeates the air.

Solow's Sutton Place North building is nice, in fact it is very nice. However the walk to First Ave is dimly lit and the bridge overpass is downright scary. Too desolate unless you have a driver and if you can afford the rents there you probaly can.

On, the avenue, Fifth Avenue. Goes the famous verse to the song EASTER PARADE. Fifth Avenue has always been known as one of the best streets in the world for shopping but it has become over run by not so chic big box stores. For fine shopping nothing beats a stroll up Madison Ave in the 60's and 70's. Try wondering over to the Carlyle for some cabaret and world-class Dover sole.

Many people know that the most expensive apartment in the city is the top three floors of the Pierre Hotel. What many outsiders do not know is that the hotel will be closing (except for the private residenses) at the end of 2007. Much of the spendor of one of New York's most important hotels will be lost. By the way how about paying almost $40,000 a month in maintainence and not having a restaurant or bar to go to in your building. Only in New York kids, only in new york.

The Rupert and Yorkville Towers give this area a king of housing projecty (is that a word) a little bit further to the East. A large NYSC with a pool is a plus and great star dining at Elaines is also. Be prepared to encounter residents of the marginal areas north of 96th St on the East Side. It also seems like this area loses power frequently when there are sectional blackouts due to power consumption.

E 34 st is a major residential block in the city too bad it is way too busy with Midtown Tunnel traffic from 3rd Ave to the FDR. NYU medical is at the FDR making noise all hours of the night, awful traffic from the tunnel at all hours makes it hard to cross the street. Also not everyone knows that there is a heliport at the river, which can add to the noise. If you are looking at the Rivergate building it does offer alot of space for the price but a what cost given all the noise.

E 39 st features a number of buildings that cater towards young professionals. So if you like being in Murray Hill and on a street where people are coming home at all hours of the night this is the place for you. Downfall crossing the tunnel traffic is a little rough

This tree line block is one of the best in Forest Hills. Well maintained as the buildings on the block are co-ops so they care. Accross the street is a large playground that wes recently redone, and there are now lots of families that go there. The best is that it is one block to the subway. The downfall is that being only a block away from Queens Blvd and the 112 Police Precint there can be conciderable noise.
