"Safe Neighborhood with Access to Some of the Best Schools in the Nation"

I grew up on Gardena Drive in Cupertino. I enjoyed growing up here because the neighborhood has a very peaceful, almost country-like feel. Most of the houses in this area are built in a ranch/farm house style since the land was once full of fruit orchards. However, there are some more modern houses that have been built next to the old ones - creating a strange look throughout the area.

One of the reasons people love living here is that it is in the Cupertino school district, known to have some of the best schools in the nation. Furthermore, Cupertino is very safe and is the home of Apple Computer. If you've ever wondered where "Silicon Valley" is, well, it's in Cupertino.

Although the area is for the most part very suburban, the neighborhood is situated between many freeways. This makes commuting very easy although it does cause some traffic and extra noise to filter through the trees. There are also lots of grocery stores near the neighborhood including Whole Foods, Safeway, PW, etc. Most restaurants around here are fast food chains or other corporate owned restaurants however there are some awesome independently owned restaurants like Bombay Oven.

This neighborhood does have some notable downsides. The location is very desirable due to it's location within the Cupertino school district, so the cost of living is very high. Even small houses do not sell for less than $1 million dollars now a days. There is also not much nightlife in this neighborhood, but it's only a quick drive to San Jose where there are tons of bars and restaurants.

Overall , Cupertino is a great place to raise children.
