"Large town with small time feel but big city options"
I've lived in Mobile (horrible), Birmingham(great), Montgomery (not too bad) and Tuscaloosa and Tuscaloosa is by far the best! This city is not your average college town. There is fine dining, family events, great schools, low crime, friendly residents and lots more. It's a great place for single and family life, students and professionals. Excellent schools, from elementary to colleges. Rush hour traffic can sometimes be hectic but who cares about traffic when you live in a great city!
