Crime in Torresdale?

I've lived in Torresdale for my entire life (mid-20s), and I am wondering from where this basis of crime is coming. I never viewed it as a crime-laden area. Maybe I've lived on the "right" streets, but I never once viewed it as even a potentially dangerous area. (Unless you're combining it with Holmesburg, which, yes, has gotten much worse.)

I haven't heard of a lot of crime in Torresdale, just some petty thefts and things of that nature. I think that unfortunately, many of the areas northeast of the city get a bad reputation and also get lumped together. People talk about the entire northeast part of the city being a terrible place to live, when in fact many areas are quite nice.

Areas like Tacony and Frankford have high crime rates, and crime happening continuously in these areas only perpetuates the myth that the entire northeast is dangerous. Torresdale up to Bensalem is actually a very nice part of Philadelphia with low crime rates.
