Wanting to move to California....I need help with information

Hi, my name is Ticia. Im 22 with a 17 month old son, a 24 yr old husband and a 3 year old sweet pit bull. We all would love to move to California. My husband is currently a customer service rep and I am a mail carrier. My husband is also very passionate about MMA and wants to make a career out of it. We need some place that is safe for our son, wouldnt mind a more country, laid back lifestyle. Close enough to entertainment would be wonderful, preferably dining, movies, family friendly events! We dont go out a whole lot and moving so far away (we live in iowa) we def. wouldnt be going out much without someone we trusted to watch our son. Weather is very important as well since im a mail carrier im trying to get away from the snow and extreme temps. We need a place that isnt too expensive, im not sure what mail carriers make in California but im sure with the cost of living being so high its not going to be the same as it is here in iowa! If anyone could help me out with some useful information i would be so appreciative.....
